Johnson and Evinrude Outboards are leading outboard brands. Evinrude was first founded by Ole Evinrude. Johnson was first manufactured by Johnson Bros
Motor Company. Together Evinrude and Johnson were later owned by Outboard Marine Corporation (OMC) and
are currently owned by Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP). Dixie Marine has been an authorized dealer for Johnson and Evinrude products for over thirty years.
After Bombardier acquired the Evinrude and Johnson Outboard brands FICHT technology was replaced by E-TEC direct fuel injection.
This improved fuel efficiency and reduced emissions, oil usage, noise levels, and maintenance needs. Evinrude E-TEC was
the first outboard engine to win the American Environmental Protection Agency 2005 Clean Air Excellence Award which recognizes low emission levels.
Most parts for the older Johnson and Evinrude Outboard Motors are still readily available.
